Detroit native, Candice ”Pretty Stringz” Smith, began playing the violin at nine years old. She graduated from the Detroit School of Arts. While at the Detroit School of Arts, she studied privately with a Detroit Symphony Orchestra member.
Recognized as a versatile artist, her well-rounded talent has provided her the opportunity to play at Carnegie Hall, NBA Detroit Pistons half-time show, Detroit Pistons National Anthem, NFL Half time show, Restored Me movie soundtrack (2016) and the Matthew Barney Film: River of Fundament (2015). Furthermore, she has had the opportunity to open/perform with artist such as: Big Sean, Rick Ross, Tony Toni Tone, Marvin Sapp, Vickie Winans, Rance Allen and many more grammy award winning artist. Pretty Stringz has been seen on Fox 2, CBS, Channel 4 WDIV "Live in the D", Michigan Chronicle and many more.
Candice continued her education at Florida A&M University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Music. In August 2017, she earned a Masters of Social Sciences with a concentration in Public Administration. Candice is a internationally renowned violinist, educator, entrepreneur and the founder of an after school program (2016). Her single "Mirrors" is now streaming on all digital platforms.
